At Devon Escape, we are striving to create unforgettable experiences for our customers. Our escape rooms are specially designed to provide a perfect blend of fun and mental exercise, allowing you to unleash your inner jail breaker, detective or war time code breaker.
We started Devon Escape with the vision to offer unique and immersive escape room adventures to the residents and visitors of Newton Abbot. Our passion for creating thrilling experiences has led us to establish ourselves as the go-to escape room company in the area.
How We Do Escape Rooms Differently
We’re tired of hearing horror stories around escape room experiences. We’re tired of escape rooms being proud of having incredibly low success rates! So that’s why we’re putting our heart and soul into changing the narrative around escape rooms, and doing something different from all the rest.
This unique viewpoint allowed us to create simply the best thing to do in Newton Abbot, and we’re striving to be the best experience in the whole of Devon! Our main passion when developing our escape rooms is to build with fun in mind first and foremost. Of course, we want our rooms to be challenging! But more importantly, we want them to be fair. We design our games with excitement and magic in mind, creating moments that will become memories for life. This design philosophy starts from the second you open the door to our venue, and lasts all the way until you leave!

Lead with Success!
No matter what happens, you will experience the WHOLE game. In the unlikely event that your timer runs over the hour — and we pride ourselves on our (near to) 100% completion stats — we’ll simply let you carry on playing until you’re done!
Dedicated Hosts
Our hosts are your secret extra team member! They’re on your side, cheering you on and providing help along the way. They’re trained to be adaptable to the game you want to play, and to offer the minimum amount of help required to ensure your victory.
A Full Experience!
The experience starts from the second you enter our venue! Our pre-game briefings allow us to set the tone, and to truly get to know you before you even start your missions! During your post-game debrief, you’ll even receive a PRINTED photo to take away free of charge, as a token of our appreciation!
You’re never locked in!
We understand that emergencies can happen. The idea of being locked in a room daunts us as your hosts too! That’s why you’ll ALWAYS be able to leave the game at any point. No questions asked. Your comfort is always our priority.
The Story So Far
Since 2018, we have had the pleasure of serving a diverse range of clients, including families, groups of friends, and corporate teams. Our escape rooms provide the perfect setting for team-building activities, celebrations, or simply a fun-filled adventure with loved ones.
The business was initially created by a team of friends and colleagues, Ann, Clive and Pete, who created our first three experiences starting back in 2018. After achieving rave reviews and a number of TripAdvisor awards, the original team decided they wanted to focus on other things. Saddened at the prospect of the site potentially closing, two owners of an escape room in Exeter (Prodigy Escapes Est. 2022), Dan and Lisa stepped in to take over and bring their own spin to the business. After noticing one of the Game Hosts, Indie, had a deep understanding for the working of the business, and their unique vision for the future of the site, they decided to promote Indie to director of the business, and eventually step back to return their focus back to Prodigy!
Now, Indie is the heart and soul of the business, and is dedicated to building on the great legacy of those that came before them, by evolving Devon Escape with brand new experiences.
Where we’re going
One of the most important things to know about us is our objectives. It is our dream to create and inspire a new generation of storytelling at our escape room in Newton Abbot. We want to open our doors to allow the creative and curious alike to discover our methods and madness. So if someone wants to learn how a prop works then we’ll do our best to share our insight with you. If you want to know how we created an effect then we can talk you through it.
Our main passion when developing our escape rooms is the potential to inspire others. Because when people are inspired there’s no limit to what can be achieved. Devon Escape is a celebration of imagination and a longing for a less ordinary existence. Something that we want to share with you!
