About Us – Our Newton Abbot Escape Room
Let’s tell you about us! Devon Escape is an independent escape room in Newton Abbot, Devon.
At Devon Escape, we strive to create an unforgettable experience for our customers. Our escape rooms are specially designed to provide a perfect blend of fun and mental exercise, allowing you to unleash your inner heist planner, detective or war time code breaker to solve exciting puzzles within the given time limit.
Devon Escape started with a vision to offer unique and immersive escape room adventures to the residents and visitors of Newton Abbot. Our passion for creating thrilling experiences led us to establish ourselves as the go-to escape room company in the area.
Since 2018, we have had the pleasure of serving a diverse range of clients, including families, groups of friends, and corporate teams. Our escape rooms provide the perfect setting for team-building activities, celebrations, or simply a fun-filled adventure with loved ones.
Devon Escape is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Dan & Lisa. Before Dan and Lisa took over in 2024, the business was initially created by a team of friends, Ann, Clive and Pete, who created the first three experiences starting back in 2018. After achieving rave reviews and a number of Tripadvisor awards, the original team decided they wanted to focus on other things. Saddened at the prospect of the site potentially closing, Dan and Lisa stepped in to take over and bring their unique own spin to the business.
Dan and Lisa had been running an Escape Room in Exeter (Prodigy Escapes Est. 2022) and were keen to take on the challenge of operating a second site in Dan’s hometown. Enthused by the fantastic attractions that already exist in the local area, we now want to contribute to the escape room community.
Our goal is to overcome barriers and promote the escape room concept to those that may have never considered them before. We want to remove any concerns that people will be trapped or left feeling inadequate if they fail to complete a room. Our objective is to have your group complete our experiences whilst developing key teamwork skills and most importantly having fun!

Enable people of all skills and abilities the ability to experience the thrills and adventure of escape rooms and to work with local businesses to promote creativity in all forms.
Where we’re going
One of the most important things to know about us is our objectives. It is our dream to create and inspire a new generation of storytelling at our escape room in Newton Abbot. We want to open our doors to allow the creative and curious alike to discover our methods and madness. So if someone wants to learn how a prop works then we’ll do our best to share our insight with you. If you want to know how we created an effect then we can talk you through it.
Our main passion when developing our escape rooms is the potential to inspire others. Because when people are inspired there’s no limit to what can be achieved. Devon Escape is a celebration of imagination and a longing for a less ordinary existence. Something that we want to share with you!
